The members of Compaignye du Chalis are proud to present these quality goods for your consideration. Field tested, these wares have been proved at events and are close replicas adhering to medieval design motifs for use in high fidelity re-enactment. Due to these products being an outgrowth of our interest in the late 14th century, our range of products focuses on the mid to late 14th century. However, we have products which are suitable for a wider range of eras from the 11th century through the 15th century.

Coin Replicas

Coin Replicas

These coin replicas are cast or struck from pewter, and adhere closely to the originals struck in the 11th through the 15th century, while being differenced enough from originals that they could not be mistaken for the genuine article. They retain a pleasing "ring" to them, when tossed onto a table or jingled in a bag, and are well suited for interpretive work, or for use at gaming at the tables, or to be given out as tokens of worth. Compaignye du Chalis has taken to gambling at the backgammon tables with them, for a penny a checker not bourne off the board, and it definitely adds to the experience without the boorishness of modern cash trading hands.

"I will say, giving these coins as ransoms and payments has definatly brought a glint to quite a few folks eyes. I, personally, have never heard of a negative comment in regards to recieving these coins." -- Herr Sixtus Goetz," Kingdom of the Outlands

14th Century Mafia Gear

14th Century Mafia Gear

Crecy. Poitiers. Najera. The Black Prince. Sir Nigel. Froissart... In the medieval re-enactment community, there is a widespread movement among certain persons who love the 14th century. The 14th century in western Europe has many features and factors which contribute to it meshing well with re-enactment activities: endemic warfare, emphasis on martial and heraldic culture, heroic figures well documented and recorded, and a well-developed cult of chivalry and courtesy. Added to the fact that its material and social culture are well enough detailed that rough boundaries for re-enactment exist, but enough unrecorded matters remain to allow investigation and freedom of interpretation, and it stands to reason that those who love the 14th century really love it. Get yourself some styling 14th Century Mafia Gear and represent the "One True Century."

Ceramics - Coming Soon!

These articles are stoneware, hand-thrown of Dover White clay and an Iron-rich red clay. The shapes, while not exact copies of any single museum peice or unearthed artifact, are interpolated from numerous proto-stoneware, Regensburg and Sieburg stoneware forms seen from the 13th through the 15th centuries.

Since these items are handmade they may have small cosmetic variances. This is a result of the process of manufacture and is a desirable trait rather than a fault.
